Kathy Foerster

Kathy’s mother, an expert seamstress, sewed all three of her children’s clothes. Watching her mother, Kathy developed a natural interest in learning how to sew, and was enrolled in 4-H at the age of 8 or 9. Some of her earliest 4-H projects included towels, aprons, and dresses.
By the time Kathy was in high school, she was able to sew her entire wardrobe. Eventually, sewing became more of a hobby and she began taking requests for particular projects. One of her requested items is a memory quilt, which is made of T-shirts or memorabilia special to the customer.
Kathy enjoys making quilts by piecing blocks together and then is able to quilt them using her sewing machine. She also enjoys embroidering the projects she sews.
She admits having a serious fabric addiction and has often had to hold back at purchasing some of the beautiful fabrics available in today’s market.
